The All On 4 Treatment

The All On 4 Treatment
The Treatment

The All On 4 treatment is designed to replace your failing natural teeth or existing dentures with a set of fixed, non-removable permanent teeth. Your new teeth are fully supported by four dental implants. The end result is a aesthetically pleasing, functional set of teeth that are easy to clean and maintain.

The All On 4 treatment first became popular in the 1990’s when its overwhelming success became widely accepted. It was designed to provide people with an alternative to ordinary dentures using as few dental implants as possible. This meant that cost of replacing your own teeth with implant supported teeth can be dramatically reduced. It was also designed to utilise the best quality bone found at the front of the mouth to stabilise the implants which means that people with very minimal bone can also benefit from the treatment.

The All On 4 Treatment is customised to each patients needs and wishes, but one of the greatest benefits of this treatment is the time it takes to complete it. The vast majority of cases can be completed within three days after implant placement surgery, allowing people to return to their routine quickly and confidently.

Your New Smile

The final appearance of your teeth is always customised to suit your individual needs. Every smile is unique and therefore its design is always a collaboration between the Dentist, Dental Technician and most importantly you. You can have the smile you’ve always wanted.

Suitability

The vast majority of patients are able to have this treatment regardless of age or medical conditions. There are very few medical conditions that prevent our patients from having great looking and functional teeth. Even patients with very little bone for dental implants are likely to be candidates to have this treatment. There is a small percentage of patients that may not have the bone quality that is required for a standard All On 4 treatment and in these cases other options are available that will provide the same great result.

The all on 4 Process
Phase One – Consultation and Imaging

The first steps to your new smile include consultation with Dr Sean Keren, CT imaging to assess your treatment options and treatment planning. All x-rays and CT imaging are taken in our practice for your convenience. After reviewing your imaging, Dr Keren will collaborate with you to ensure your treatment options are customised to achieve your desired result and we will provide you with your treatment costs.
Phase Two – The Workup

This phase begins when you say “lets do it” and is a short series of appointments at our clinic. At the workup appointments photographs are taken, impressions are taken and a and mock up of your new teeth is done.
Phase Three – The Procedure
Day 1 – Under a general anaesthetic at the day surgery unit of Caboolture Private Hospital any remaining teeth are removed and the dental implants are placed. Impressions of your mouth are also taken and sent to the dental laboratory.
Day 2 – Rest day.
Day 3 – Your new teeth are ready to try into your mouth. At this time Dr Keren assess your facial support, bite, speech and appearance.
Day 4 – You walk away with your new smile.
Dental Implants What Are They And How Do They Work

A dental implant is a titanium fixture or “screw” that is anchored into the jaw bone to replace missing teeth or provide an anchorage for a denture.

The titanium material that the implant is made from is biocompatible, or in other words the body does not recognise it as a foreign object. When the implant is fixed into the jaw bone it undergoes a process called Osseointegration, which means the bone will grow and fuse with the implant thus incorporating it as part of the body. Modern implants have a high tech surface design which aids and speeds up the osseointegration process and reduces overall treatment time. While in the past implants needed to be left to heal for several months before being used to support a tooth or denture, these days they can be loaded and put into function immediately.

Dental implants are hollow inside and have an internal thread, similar to a nut used to screw onto a bolt. A special attachment known as Abutment is screwed into that thread. The crown or denture can then be fixed directly to the abutment.
